A note from the founder
Eleven years in the Marine Corps taught me to read a room, not a label. When I hung up the uniform in 2014, I noticed the beard aisle had turned into the same kind of room — paid smiles, affiliate shilling, and a growing pile of "miracle" growth serums that left three hundred and twelve brands rejected from our consideration.
In eight years we have bought almost everything at full retail, worn it through Minnesota cold and Arizona heat, and then written down what we actually saw. If a product does not earn its keep across four climates and a panel of twelve honest beards, it does not get a number on this site — full stop.
